Nancy O'Dell started her career in the broadcast industry as reporter for WPDE-TV, Myrtle Beach South Carolina. Then, she joined WCBD as anchor for the morning show and as a crime reporter. While in Charleston O'Dell's reports about the relaxed approach police take towards DUI cases led to the launch of a State Law Enforcement Division investigation that led to state authorities re-issuing a more stringent directive regarding the instances. Ms. O'Dell received an award for the Best Report of the Award from the Associated Press for South Carolina's media. O'Dell's experience in Charleston was the reason she joined as co-anchor and investigative reporter as well as NBC's Miami WTVJ-TV. Prior to joining Access Hollywood she was a co-anchor on weekdays as well as NBC's weekend co-anchor. She also works as co-anchor for Dateline NBC and NBC News Today. She has covered such events including The Oscars The Emmys The Grammys and The Golden Globe Awards as well as co-hosting a number of shows that were pre-showarrivals for The Emmys and the Golden Globes. She has also hosted The Miss America Pageant as well as the Miss USA Pageant and Miss Universe.
